This was Sega's last system, the Dreamcast. Developed in 1997
to replace the collapsing market around Sega previous system the Sega Saturn. First Codenamed Katana and also codenamed Blackbelt.
Sega of America was making Katana and Japans Sega Development Branch was making Blackbelt. One was going to be 128 bit, the
other, was going to be 64 bit, soon thereafter they combined there efforts into the Sega Dreamcast. 128 bit graphics engine
with chipsets manufactured by Hitachi. The System had its share of good games and bad games. The main competition, Sony, decided
to outsmart Sega with the PS2. Sony overhyped the PS2 so much, the doubled all the specs just to make it sound good, although
they werent as good as they said... The Hype actually helped kill the DC alone, combined with major crippling market losses
in the 90's from other systems that were good, but not good enough. The Dreamcast lived a short life, 1998-2001, officially.
Sega cancelled in Spring 2001 and started to develope games as third part for the main consoles on market. Although cancelled,
the Dreamcast still lives on, the specs are still up to par in todays standards. Just because its old doesnt mean its not
fun
